Austin Hill Earns Top-10 Finish at Martinsville Speedway

Race Highlights:

• The Texas Roadhouse 200 marked the 20th race of the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck season and seventh race for Austin Hill.
• Hill advanced through two rounds of qualifying, starting 15th and racing his way as high as eighth during the 200-lap race.
• Battling near the top-10 for most of the day, Hill worked his way through heavy race traffic late in the race, to earn his first career NCWTS top-10 finish.
• A NASCAR Next alumnus, Hill had two previous starts at the Martinsville, V.A. 0.526-mile track in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, with a previous best finish of 19th.
• Austin Hill Racing welcomed new partners to the team beginning with Saturday’s race. • Johnny Sauter earned his second NCWTS victory of 2016 and was followed to the finish line by Chase Elliott, John Hunter Nemechek, Christopher Bell and Timothy Peters.
• The next NCWTS race is the Longhorn 350 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, November 4th. The race will be televised live on FS 1 and broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM Radio beginning at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Austin Hill Earns Top-10 Finish at Martinsville Speedway

In just his third career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Martinsville Speedway, Austin Hill and the No. 20 Alien Gear Holsters, Lawless Jerky Ford team earned a career best finish of 10th in the Texas Roadhouse 200. After starting the 200-lap event from the 15th position, the Winston, GA native found himself fighting just outside top-10 within the opening laps. Reporting an extremely loose condition on exit early in the event, crew chief Mike Abner brought Hill to pit road under caution on lap 49 for four tires, fuel and a trackbar adjustment. Hill fired off under green, reporting the truck was fastest as he rolled the center of the turns. Others pit strategy forced Hill to have to fight heavy traffic from as far back as 17th, but the NASCAR Next Alum continued to persevere. Under the lap 148 caution, Hill came to pit road for the final time, once again receiving four fresh GoodYear tires, Sunoco race fuel and a wedge adjustment, to fight off a tight condition. Restarting 15th, Hill quickly worked his way back towards the front, settling his No. 20 Alien Gear Holsters, Lawless Jerky Ford into 10th as the checkered flag waved.

Austin Hill, a Winston, Ga. native, is driven to become the next big name in NASCAR. The 22-year-old is driving a partial schedule in the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
