Austin Hill Battles Adversity to Earn Top-20 Finish at Texas

Austin Hill and his No. 20 Lone Survivor Foundation, Alien Gear Holsters, Lawless Jerky Ford team fought adversity all night Friday, en route to a top-20 finish at Texas Motor Speedway. After starting the 147-lap event from the 20th position, the Winston, G.A. native immediately radioed in that his truck was incredibly loose. Working traffic to better the aero handling of the truck, Hill climbed as high as 15th in the early stages of the race. Unfortunately, shortly after the races first caution on lap 38, Hill radioed to crew chief Mike Abner, that the motor had picked up a strong vibration, as it was losing a cylinder. Continuing to wrestle with the loose condition, and running on only seven cylinders, Hill maintained his position inside the top-20 for the remainder of the race, and crossed the checkered flag in the 19th position.

AUSTIN HILL QUOTE:

“I felt like we had a really good truck heading into the race, it practiced really well and have good speed in qualifying,” commented Hill. “We’re not really sure why the truck became so loose right away, but we believe it was aero related. We were trying to combat the loose condition, and still gaining spots on the track, when the motor started to vibrate and lost a cylinder, which unfortunately cemented us in the back.  Everyone on this AHR team worked their butts off all weekend and dug deep during the race. I cant thank them and all of our supporters, including Lone Survivor Foundation, Alien Gear Holsters and Lawless Jerky. Without them, none of this would be possible.”
